Availability of the education portal

The education portal is a central platform for teachers, students and legal guardians. It provides access to a wide range of functions and applications useful for everyday school life through a single login. In principle, the education portal is is available to all Austrian schools, with individual functions being activated in stages.

Target groups

The education portal is available as an e-government service portal to all citizens who have a connection to a school and whose master data has been transferred to the school data network.

Pupils and legal guardians

The master data of pupils and their legal guardians are transferred from the local records of the respective school administration to the school data network. The education portal obtains this master data from the school data network, which is why it is decisive for making the for students and legal guardians is whether this data transfer takes place. Currently, this is the case for the School administration software Sokrates for federal and private schools as long as for those schools that use Sokrates Web. The school administration programmes from other providers for compulsory schools and an upload service for schools without school administration software are currently being implemented.

School employees

The master data of federal teachers is obtained from the federal identity management system and is therefore available across the board. Master data of compulsory school teachers and teachers at agricultural and forestry schools are obtained from PH-Online. Any school assignments of those schools therefore currently correspond to the data status of PH-Online. Work is also underway to obtain this data directly from the source system of the personnel management, SAP, in order to reduce the maintenance effort on the part of the schools.

If schools want to link employees to their own school that cannot be provided automatically via an upstream system, the Custom Affiliations function is available for this purpose.
