If you have a website on which you publish news regularly, you can use RSS to automatically display your news from the website also in the education portal.

Most content management systems like Wordpress or Joomla offer RSS feeds to allow users to keep track of updates to the site. You can use these RSS feeds also to display the news of your website in the education portal. The RSS URL of your website is usurally the URL to the news section of your website with /feed (Wordpress) or ?format=feed&type=rss (Joomla) added at the end of the URL.

Principals and authorized employees can add RSS feeds to the education portal. The RSS feed is displayed at the top of the dashboard to all users of the organization. Education directorates can also configure RSS feeds that are displayed to all associated schools.

To add the RSS feed to the education portal, open the News option in the Organization widget.

Click the Manage RSS feeds link in the News section.

Click + Add.

Enter the URL of the RSS feed. You can also exclude content so it won't be displayed in the news section. To exclude content enter the HTML that you would like to exclude in the Remove content field. Click Save changes.

The latest news items are displayed on the dashboard of the education portal.
The name is automatically filled in with the name of your website. You can edit the RSS feed URL by clicking the edit icon or hide the news items from the Dashboard by clicking the eye icon. The news section in the education portal is refreshed every 10 minutes using RSS.
