How do I generate an automatic confirmation of school attendance?
Starting in the 2025/26 school year, confirmations of school attendance can be generated automatically via the education portal. Schools can configure this feature to suit their own needs.
The automatic confirmation of school attendance is linked through the form directory of the education portal. This form is managed centrally by the Federal Ministry of Education and automatically displayed for all schools. You can find the form on the dashboard in the Personal area section.
In the Forms widget, you will find at least the confirmation of school attendance. This widget contains links to all relevant forms, regardless of whether they were uploaded by the central office, the education authorities, or your school. To open the form, click the link Bestätigung über den Schulbesuch in the Forms widget.
An overview page is displayed. Click Open web form.
The form is displayed. If you have an appropriate role at several schools, you can select the desired school under Select issuer. In the For submission to text field, you can specify, whether the confirmation of school attendance should be issued for submission to a particular authority (e.g. a government agency).
Employees can generate school attendance certificates for all students within their organization. Legal guardians can select from their own children, while students can generate the school attendance certificate only for themselves.
Click Request to generate the confirmation of school attendance.
To submit the form, employees must check the box confirming that the information is correct.
Note: If you select the "Preview" checkbox, a PDF document will be generated without a signature. This allows you to test whether your settings produce the desired result.
Depending on the school's configuration, the confirmation of school attendance is signed with the official electronic signature immediatly and can be opened in the Personal archive widget on the Dashobard, generated but awaits a signature from an authorized employee, generated and must be signed manually by an authorized employee.
Download generated confirmations of school attendance
Students can download their confirmation of school attendance from the dashboard under the Personal Archive widget. Legal guardians can also view their children's Personal Archive.
Authorized employees for the official electronic signature can view all generated school attendance certificates (with electronic signature) in the Officially signed documents & deliveries widget under All documents.
